The Saga of the car
So remember how we totaled our car on our honeymoon in Vegas and it looked like this?
and the other car looked like this?
(I don't know about you but all I see it a bent bumper that has been cracked a little...just sayin)
Well its ghost is still haunting us and apparently it still looks like that! When we crashed, we called AAA because Ryan's parents gave us a membership for our Christmas/our birthdays a few months early. They towed the car to one of their lots where they were going to hold the car until our insurance contacted them and told them what to do with it. While we were there we told them to just scrape the car because we only had liability insurance so the insurance company will not have anything to do with the car, repairing the car, or paying for the car. When we told them this they still said they would wait and again we said for them not to. Well in few weeks after the accident Ryan tried calling the place that had our car to make sure they scrapped it because they were charging a $35/day fee to hold the car. He called them 3 times and no one answered so he left messages and no one called us back. So we just assumed that it was all taken care of and we "washed our hands" of the situation because we told them many many times to scrape our car.
WELL
Today we got a call from Ryan's parents telling us that a message on their answering machine in CANADA was from the car people and that they STILL have our CAR and that they had not heard from our insurance agency! This is FOUR months later! Why do they have it?! We tried calling them again today and they still didn't answer so we left another message. And of course they have not heard from our insurance, we told them that they wouldn't! So we called AAA today and no one anywhere can find the records of the accident. Awesome.
then a few days ago the people who are "holding" our call until the insurance agency tells them what to do with it called us back and they said that we could sing over the title of the car to them and they would forget that we owe them $4,000 plus dollars. Well we tired to do that but since it was Ryan's car and it is Canadian there is not a title for the car like we have here in the US so now we don't know what is going to happen. Hopefully we will get this all figured out so everyone is happy and we don't owe anyone lots of money that we don't have.
